About the event

The Hamburg International Arbitration Days (HIAD) consist of a multitude of events that annually gather arbitration practitioners and academics from all around the world in the city of Hamburg to discuss and exchange insights on various aspects of international arbitration.

The HIAD place a particular focus on creating an intimate setting for fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the field of international arbitration with in-depth discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities. The program includes the Luther Lecture and the HIAD Conference at Bucerius Law School, workshops on current topics in international arbitration, a networking dinner and the CAM-CCBC Hamburg Pre-Moot.

    The HIAD explore a wide range of topics, which are in parts inspired by the current problem of the Willem C. Vis Moot, but also explore other relevant developments and challenges in international arbitration.

    The HIAD hereby offer valuable insights and perspectives for legal practitioners, academics and students alike.

    The HIAD feature a line-up of distinguished and international speakers who are experts in the field of arbitration. These speakers, hailing from various countries and backgrounds, bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the HIAD. They share valuable insights, practical expertise and academic perspectives, making the event a premier platform for attendees to learn from and engage with some of the most prominent figures in international arbitration.

  • Venues

    The HIAD offer attendees a unique experience by hosting events at various venues, including the prestigious Bucerius Law School, the Elbphilharmonie as well as law firms and other locations across Hamburg.

About us

The HIAD owe their inception to the collaborative efforts of the Center of International Dispute Resolution at Bucerius Law School, the Hamburg Arbitration Circle and Dispute Resolution Hamburg, an initiative of Rechtsstandort Hamburg e.V.
